Count Word
Just shy of 5000 words on the secret album--it is officially completely written, though there are still plenty of decisions to be made.
Anybody have any idea of albums with super high word counts? Averages for rock albums by decade? Averages for rap albums? Let's get statistical.
Stopping for tonight shortly. Resuming HARD & CO. in the morning. Then maybe tomorrow night I'll unleash the dragon.

Two Lungs
It's really been two lungs since I posted here. I wanted to let Gates of Heaven sink in.
I am forced to suppose it is simply too bobnannas to mesh with your groove.
I can only suggest you spin it again come the true hotness, and we'll put out another one that MOMN be more focused.
After a visit to my lovely birthing place I made some tough decisions about the records I'm working on. It's all good news to you. I'll cut 2 the chase.
Yes Boss - Being retooled. This was essentially finished as a 14-song record. It will gain a few songs and be a 20-song record. I won't bore you with the details; I'll just say I decided waaaaay back in 2004 or something to take as much time "perfecting" this record as I deemed necessary, and I've done exactly that and seem intent on continuing to do so. Hopefully the band doesn't get sick of the songs by the time it gets done. Probably will self-release.
Secret album - Not really a secret. Just have to become 100% sure before I unleash the dragon. As for when I release the dragon, most likely early 2008. Will have 25 songs, all except one of which is currently written. I have a thrown a lot away. I will start playing them circa August I'd guess. I've actually played a couple of them already.
So that's that. Work proceeds.
I believe I/we will be playing June 15th and 16th; keep an eye out here for details.
Oh! I'm playing this Friday at Union Hall. Doing some sweet covers in between halves of a "Yacht Rock" marathon. Come out! It's totally free and it should be a good time. Post suggestions in the comments too.
Grausday returns next Tuesday. I'll cook up something sweet.

Finally... Grausday Presents Itself
I thought I would put up a song from the esteemed CMYK Box Set so y'all who don't own it can know what your missing. All remaining orders (god willing) should go out this Friday.
The song here is one of my faves from the set, and it's also going to be featured on the laziness-delayed "November Brain" 16 song digital album release. So you got that going for you.
It's about the concept of dealing with your loved one murdering you by picturing yourself as a transient spirit only momentarily inhabiting a physical body.
Nah I'm just playing it's not really about that, though if you listen to the lyrics you might think it's the case. Rest easy tonight, listening audience; it's just about the trials and tribulations of being a crazy-ass guy like me.
Comments? Suggestions? The secret album will be revealed in a short while. The box set will come out this year.
Graham Smith w/ Herbs - "Just Driving Through"
Oh yeah, I'm going to start working on some sort of text collection (with possible photos) to accompany the box set, so please send (and tell your friends to send) any anecdotes or photodotes they have of KGW to smervice at gmail.
Sweet! Happy Smausday!
