We were pretty convinced going into it that this one would not happen at all. In fact, Yellow was officially delayed, and the dream that
started it all--the dream of 4 cd's, one for every week of the month, a pure dream--was nearly abandoned.
"This one really took it out of me. I don't think I felt as beaten up and crazy as I did during and after the recording of yellow. Thayer
came through to help it out, but ultimately I knew I was alone. So much so that I jammed out an entire jam with Thayer in the room, though
he played nothing ('We Enjoy Ourself,' ironically enough). But truthfully, this one may be the strongest of the bunch. The lesson I take
away from all of this is that the more pain you are in mentally the better results you get, a thought method usually attributed to Young Jeezy."
